Pera
Pera could be described as a small but mighty company. With a workforce of several dozen, it does not claim to be a global conglomerate. It is a family-run business born out of passion and sheer determination. Today, customers increasingly appreciate this very approach to food production. Pera Coffee therefore fits perfectly with the specific needs of the market. Once upon a time, it was a home-based operation on the ground floor of a house. Today, the third generation is at the helm; although they produce more kilos of coffee a day, they still uphold the quality standards established by the founder, ensuring the exquisite taste and aroma of the roasted beans.

The coffee business and the daily life of an Italian family
Italy is invariably associated with coffee. Although the country lacks the right conditions for growing coffee, the inhabitants of sunny Italy are renowned for their immense passion for, and sheer delight in, the taste and aroma of this dark beverage. Popular espresso, delicate cappuccino and frothy latte bear Italian names for good reason. Even the coffee-based dessert tiramisu is a delicacy we also associate with Italian cuisine. It is therefore no surprise that an Italian family has taken up the production and roasting of coffee.
The small family business was founded in 1953, when Benito Pera invested his savings in his dream venture. The small, wood-fired coffee roastery was located on the family estate. The Pera family’s life was thus inevitably intertwined with their daily work. This also shaped the lives of subsequent generations of the Pera family. Growing up surrounded by the extraordinary aroma of coffee and delicate exotic beans, the children were curious and keen to help their parents with their professional duties as best they could.
This is how the family-run company Pera came into being, driven by passion and the conviction that, when it comes to good things, it is not quantity but quality that counts. Today, the thriving company Pera supplies coffee to international markets and, since 2016, has been part of TORREFATTORI ASSOCIATI SPA, which also owns other brands of exquisite coffee.
The unique flavours of the finest coffee varieties
The Pera brand offers, amongst other things, blends of Arabica and Robusta varieties. These aromatic and distinctive drinks pack a caffeine punch thanks to their 60% Robusta content. The hints of cocoa and dark chocolate will appeal to lovers of a daily, invigorating espresso with a frothy head. The company’s range also includes high-caffeine coffees with an 80% Robusta content. This exceptionally strong coffee tastes excellent whether brewed using the pour-over method, in a traditional Italian moka pot or in a modern espresso machine.
Carefully selected beans from Brazilian, Vietnamese and African plantations create phenomenal blends, among which every coffee lover will find their favourite drink. Perfectly balanced proportions deliver an incredible taste experience. In Pera coffees, you’ll taste the sharpness and distinctiveness of exotic spices and fruits, as well as the intense flavour of cocoa and even an aromatic note reminiscent of toasted bread. So immerse yourself in the extraordinary pleasure of drinking coffee that energises you and delights your taste buds with its variety.
